Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform mechanical roadside repairs, and provide emergency breakdown support with speed and confidence.

You’ll start and end your day at home, with shifts averaging 40 hours per week and optional overtime. The role offers a base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE of around £60,000, with top performers earning more through bonuses and overtime adjustments.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform mechanical roadside repairs
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Conduct vehicle diagnostics and fault-finding
