Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside across the UK. You’ll perform diagnostics and repairs, supported by a RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic kit, starting and ending each day from home.

You’ll use your Level 2 LV maintenance qualifications (or equivalent) or substantial experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic to deliver safe, reliable service. You will work demand-led 40-hour weeks with overtime options, enjoy a market base salary of £36,400

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head-on.
• Assist customers with quick, confident solutions and reassurance during breakdowns.
