Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will start and finish from home, with a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform and diagnostic kit provided, working on demand-led shifts around 40 hours per week.

You’ll need either NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic, plus a full UK driving licence with under 6 points.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience.
• Alternatively, 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and end your day at home with a RAC van, fuel card, and essential tools.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance when members need it most.
