Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to provide mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll be trained through a structured development pathway from day one, with access to tools, a RAC van, and diagnostic kit.

The role starts and ends at home, with 40-hour weeks and optional overtime. You’ll need a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician) and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent (2+ years' experience)
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Troubleshoot faults and perform repairs at the roadside
