Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You will start and finish from home, with shifts averaging 40 hours per week and optional overtime, supported by your RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit.

You will need NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, plus a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish on your driveway, with demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week and optional overtime.
• Use provided tools, diagnostic kit, and equipment to fix faults and reassure RAC members.
