Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to keep the UK moving. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and provide confident assistance to members.

Starting and ending at home, you’ll work 40 hours weekly with demand-led shifts; a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit are provided.

Eligible candidates have LV Maintenance Level 2 (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform roadside repairs across the UK
• Deliver quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members
• Provide emergency breakdown support and diagnostics
• Work starts/ends at home with 40-hour weeks and optional overtime
