Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside across the UK. You’ll handle diagnostics, fault finding, and emergency breakdown support with a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification and 2+ years’ experience.

Start and finish at home, with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform and tools provided. You’ll work around a 40-hour week with optional overtime and a realistic OTE of around £65k–£66k, depending on bonuses and overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert roadside repair, diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home, focusing on getting members back on the road in your local area.
• You’ll be equipped with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, essential tools and diagnostic kit.
