Job summary

The RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You’ll diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and support members across the UK, with shifts that typically average 40 hours per week.

You’ll start and finish your day at home, be issued a RAC van, diagnostic kit, and full uniform, and enjoy demand-led overtime opportunities. A Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification and 2+ years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Troubleshoot faults and perform repairs at the roadside, including battery, tyre, and fault-finding scenarios.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
