Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You will perform mechanical roadside repairs, diagnose faults, and provide emergency breakdown support across the UK, starting and finishing at home.

This role requires a Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification and at least 2 years of post-qualification experience, plus a full UK driving licence. You’ll work demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week with optional overtime, and you’ll be supported by a RAC van, fuel

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical and diagnostic experience.
• Customer-focused approach is essential for roadside support.
• A full UK driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Handle fault diagnostics and repairs for diverse roadside calls.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members at the roadside.
