Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician in the UK. You will use a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience to diagnose faults and carry out roadside repairs for RAC members.

You will start and finish your day at home, work roughly 40 hours per week with demand-led shifts and optional overtime. A RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members on the roadside.
