Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to keep the UK moving. You’ll perform mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK, using your Level 2 qualification and 2+ years’ experience. You’ll start and finish your day at home, with a RAC van, fuel card and full tools provided.

A full UK driving licence and a high standard of customer service are essential. Shift patterns are demand-led, averaging about 40 hours per week with optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics across the UK
• Provide emergency breakdown support and quick, confident solutions
• Start and finish each shift from home, with a RAC van, fuel card and tools provided
