Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician in the UK. You will diagnose, repair and assist with emergency breakdowns, delivering rapid, confident solutions to members on the roadside. Start and finish from home, with a RAC van, fuel card and diagnostic kit supplied to support rapid response.

Candidates with Level 2 LV maintenance or 5+ years in vehicle tech are encouraged to apply. A full UK licence with <6 points is required and shifts average around 40 hours per week, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a Roadside Technician/Mechanic or equivalent requirement.
• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Deliver emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Handle calls for flat batteries, tyre changes and fault finding.
• Operate with RAC van, fuel card, uniform, tools and diagnostic kit provided.
