Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and provide emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll start and finish at home, operate from an RAC van with a fuel card and diagnostic kit, and handle demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week with optional overtime.

With a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) and 2+ years’ experience, you’ll be part of a long‑standing, trusted brand offering competitive pay (£36,400 base) and a realistic OTE

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish your day at home and work on a 40-hour per week pattern with possible overtime.

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)

5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
