Job summary

RAC is hiring a Roadside Technician to diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, delivering urgent breakdown support across the UK. You’ll start and finish each day from home, with a 40-hour demand-led schedule and optional overtime to boost earnings.

We provide you with an RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, tools and diagnostic kit from day one. A Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance qualification (or equivalent) and a valid UK driving licence with <6 points are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support nationwide.
• Start and finish shifts from home with locally focused duties.
• Provide quick, confident solutions and reassurance to RAC members.
