Job summary

RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to join our Patrol division. You’ll conduct diagnostics and roadside repairs, supported by a RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic kit. Start and finish from home with local day splits, covering York, Tadcaster, Selby and nearby towns.

You’ll bring a Level 2 qualification with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience, hold a full UK licence, and deliver excellent member service in fast-paced roadside scenarios.

Qualifications

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 2 years' post-qualification technical, electrical, and diagnostic experience.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Handle faults such as flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault-finding with quick, confident solutions.
• Provide reassurance and high-quality member service when needed.
• Start and finish days from home and work locally to get members back on the road.
