Job summary

RAC, Ripon-based roadside services provider, is seeking a Roadside Technician. You’ll diagnose and repair vehicles at the roadside, deliver emergency breakdown support, and work in the York cluster covering York and surrounding towns.

You’ll start and finish at home, with a RAC van, fuel card, and essential tools provided. A Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification and at least 2 years’ post‑qualification experience are required, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent)
• At least 2 years' post-qualification technical experience
• Customer-focused approach
• Full UK driving licence

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish on your driveway, with local day calls and home-based start/end.
• Use tools and diagnostic kit to fix faults quickly and confidently.
