Job summary

RAC in the United Kingdom is hiring a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, perform roadside repairs, and assist members in emergencies. You’ll work as part of the Patrol division, self-managing your day with shifts averaging around 40 hours weekly and the comfort of starting and finishing at your home driveway.

You’ll be equipped with your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, diagnostic tools, and ongoing training. The role combines hands-on mechanical work with exceptional member service.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
Start and end your day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and making a real impact on the roadside.
You’ll be provided with RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, essential tools, and diagnostic kit.
