Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll work independently to diagnose faults, provide quick, confident solutions and help members continue their journeys safely.

This role offers a structured development pathway with hands-on learning and IMI accreditation opportunities. Expect demand-led shifts averaging 40 hours per week (with overtime available) and a base salary of £36,400 with a

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent, with 2+ years’ experience.
• Or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics.
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and guide members back on the road safely.
• Work independently to diagnose faults and make quick, informed decisions.

Education
