Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults, perform repairs on the roadside and provide quick, confident solutions to keep our members moving.

You’ll start from on-call or driveway-based shifts with demand-led patterns averaging 40 hours per week and optional overtime. A structured development programme leads to IMI accreditation and career growth.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience in vehicle maintenance.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults and perform roadside repairs.
• Provide diagnostics and emergency breakdown support.
• Work independently to get members back on the road.
• Utilise latest diagnostic technology to identify faults.
• Develop skills through structured technical training.
