Job summary

RAC is seeking Roadside Technicians to provide mechanical roadside repairs, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll diagnose faults and deliver quick, confident solutions to keep members moving.

The role offers a base salary of £41,600 with an OTE of £66,000, a 40-hour week with optional overtime, and a structured development programme toward IMI accreditation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• Demonstrated diagnostic and roadside repair capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults, perform quick fixes and help members continue their journeys safely.
• Work independently with strong customer service and decision-making under pressure.

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance

5+ years experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic

Full UK driving licence with <6 points
