Job summary

The RAC is looking for a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, repair vehicles roadside, and support members across the UK. You’ll start and finish from home, follow a structured development pathway, and work average 40 hours per week with optional overtime.

You’ll receive a market-competitive base salary (£36,400) with a realistic OTE (£60,000–£61,000). You’ll also benefit from a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit from day one.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• or 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• Structured development pathway with ongoing support
• Ability to work on UK-wide roadside repairs

Responsibilities

• Deliver expert mechanical roadside repair and diagnostics
• Provide emergency breakdown support across the UK
• Handle flat batteries, tyre changes, and fault-finding
• Operate with RAC van, fuel card, and diagnostic kit
• Deliver quick solutions with strong member service
