Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to diagnose faults, carry out mechanical roadside repairs, and provide emergency breakdown support across the UK. You’ll start and end at home, with a RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and diagnostic kit supplied to you.

Offering 40 hours per week with demand-led shifts and optional overtime, the role features a base salary of £36,400 and a realistic OTE around £60,000, with top performers earning more through bonuses and overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform expert roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Start and finish day at home, tackling challenges head‑on and delivering excellent member service.
