Job summary

RAC is seeking a Roadside Technician to keep the UK moving. You’ll be deployed nationwide, starting and finishing at home, with a RAC van, fuel card, full uniform, tools, and diagnostic kit provided.

Salary starts at £36,400 with a realistic OTE of £60,000; top performers earn more through bonuses and enhanced overtime. Expect around 40-hour weeks with demand-led shifts and optional overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical roadside repair, diagnostics and emergency breakdown support across the UK.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs at roadside to restore mobility.
• Deliver quick, confident solutions and high levels of member service.
