The role will lead and develop our organisation-wide Risk and Intelligence Framework (RIF) for identifying, evaluating, and managing market risk.

The role

In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day running of our market risk pipeline, ensuring that concerns, insights and emerging risks are captured, evaluated and progressed promptly through the appropriate decision-making routes. You will also be responsible for developing the SRA's capability and confidence in recognising market risks. This includes maintaining and evolving our regulatory Harms Framework for market risk, providing education and coaching to colleagues, and ensuring consistent application of risk criteria across the organisation. Working through influence, you will facilitate collaboration across teams and contribute to wider organisational forums to support knowledge sharing and aligned responses to risk.

A key part of the role will involve monitoring external best practice and building relationships with peer organisations to strengthen our approach to identifying and mitigating market risk. You may also have responsibility for line managing colleagues, supporting their development while driving continuous improvement in how we understand, prioritise and act on market risk across the organisation.

  • Experience of leading through influence
  • Ability to produce reasoned, defensible analysis that can be relied upon to determine regulatory policy and prioritised action.
