A long-established regional law firm is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager for its Malmesbury office. This role is critical for managing legal, regulatory, and operational risks, ensuring compliance with SRA regulations and AML requirements. The candidate will oversee the risk framework, conduct audits, and provide training to staff. The ideal individual has extensive experience in a compliance role within legal services, strong knowledge of relevant regulations, and is capable of advising senior management effectively.

Qualifications

  • Ability to advise at senior level.

A long-established regional law firm with multiple local offices is seeking an experienced Risk & Compliance Manager in its Malmesbury office. The role is key to safeguarding the firm by identifying, assessing, and managing legal, regulatory, and operational risks while ensuring ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the firm’s risk and compliance framework
  • Ensure compliance with SRA regulations, AML requirements, and internal policies
  • Act as a key point of contact for regulatory and compliance matters
  • Manage and develop AML, data protection, complaints, and risk management procedures
  • Conduct audits, risk assessments, and internal reviews
  • Provide guidance and training to partners and staff on compliance obligations
  • Support senior management with regulatory reporting and risk strategy
Experience Required
  • Proven experience in a risk and/or compliance role within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong working knowledge of SRA regulations and AML frameworks
  • Ability to work independently and advise at senior level
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
