Job summary

Mount Charles Group is seeking a customer-focused cleaner to join our family-oriented team. You will deliver high-quality cleaning across offices, meeting rooms, toilets, labs, and amenity areas, while maintaining stock levels and reporting hazards to the Line Manager.

We value attention to detail and excellent customer service, with a flexible schedule Mon–Fri 8am–6pm, around 6 hours per week, offering pro rata annual leave and a pension scheme. Training in safety procedures is provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ/SVQ Level One in Cleaning Building Interiors (advantage)
• Basic reading/writing/speaking/listening skills to understand safety instructions
• Current BICS Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide the highest level of cleaning service within your area of responsibility in line with client specifications.
• Respond promptly, politely and professionally to customer requirements.
• Carry out general cleaning across offices, meeting rooms, toilets/showers, laboratories and amenity areas site wide.
• Ensure stock replenishment in your area and regular checks on equipment.
• Keep all equipment and areas clean and in good working order at end of shift.
• Follow company procedures and health and safety policies.
• Report hazards or near-misses to Line Manager.
• Maintain clean and tidy offices, toilets, and amenity areas.

Working Pattern

• Monday – Friday
• 8am – 6pm
• 6 hours per week
• Flexible - can be cleaned 2 hrs x3 times a week OR 3 hrs x 2 times a week

The Role

• Providing the highest level of Cleaning service within your area of responsibility in line with the clients’ specifications
• Responding positively, politely and promptly to all customer requirements and carry out your duties in a professional and courteous manner
• Providing a range of general cleaning services to include offices/meeting rooms, toilets/showers, laboratories and amenity areas site wide
• Ensuring all stocks are replenished in your area of responsibility
• Ensuring regular checks are carried out to the equipment/machines used
• During hours of work and all the equipment is left clean and in good working order at the end of your shift
• Making yourself familiar with and follow all company procedures and regulations
• Participating in the Health and Safety Policy of the company and report any dangers, near misses or hazards you encounter to your Line Manager
• All offices, toilets, etc and amenity areas to be presented in a clean and tidy

The Person

• Exceptional customer service skills
• Strong attention to detail
• NVQ/SVQ Level One in Cleaning Building Interiors would be an advantage but not essential
• Previous work experience in customer service employment
• Current BICS Qualifications
• Basic statutory training for the role will require all candidates to have basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to assist in understanding safety and work instructions and communicating with customer on a day‑to‑day basis.
