Job summary

Marks & Spencer is seeking a Security Officer to create a safe and welcoming shopping environment. You will be the visible presence in-store, greeting customers and supporting colleagues while protecting people and products.

The role requires calm under pressure, professional conduct and a proactive approach to risk identification and incident handling. You will use store tech, including mobile reporting and body-worn cameras, to back up store operations and incident management.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is preferred.
• A valid SIA licence is desirable, although not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A calm, confident and professional approach.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
• A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.

Responsibilities

• Be a visible, welcoming presence in store and assist customers and colleagues.
• Help prevent loss, respond to incidents and identify risks to keep the store safe.
• Use store technology and digital tools, including mobile reporting systems and body-worn cameras, to support operations and incident management.
• Remain calm under pressure and act professionally in all situations.
• Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards and support daily operations.
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing store needs and shifts.
