Job summary

M&S is seeking a Security Officer to help create a safe, welcoming environment for customers and colleagues in-store. You will be a calm, confident presence, delivering great service while protecting people, products and store assets.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, with a proactive approach and team-oriented mindset. Prior security experience and a valid SIA licence are preferred but not mandatory; a 5-year UK work history check is required.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is preferred.
• A valid SIA license is desirable, although not essential.
• All candidates must be able to provide a 5-year checkable work history within the UK.

Responsibilities

• Act as a visible security presence in-store to protect customers, colleagues and assets.
• Prevent loss and respond to incidents, identifying risks and supporting safe ways of working.
• Utilise store technology and body-worn cameras to support incident management and store operations.
• Stay calm under pressure and act professionally in challenging situations.
• Work closely with store teams to maintain high standards and deliver excellent service.
