Job summary

Marks & Spencer is seeking a Security Officer to protect stores, people and products while delivering excellent customer service. You will be visible in-store, stay calm under pressure, and work with colleagues to maintain safety and security using store tech and incident management tools.

The ideal candidate has customer focus, strong communication, and a proactive mindset. A valid SIA licence is desirable but not essential; expect a fast-paced retail environment with a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous security experience is preferred.
• A valid SIA licence is desirable, although not essential.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A proactive mindset with the ability to make sound decisions quickly.
• A genuine passion for customer service and keeping people safe.
• All candidates must be able to provide a 5-year checkable work history within the UK.

Responsibilities

• Operate in a fast-paced retail environment, staying alert and ready to step in when needed.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to customers and colleagues.
• Help keep stores safe and secure, prevent loss, respond to incidents, identify risks.
• Use store technology, including mobile reporting systems and body-worn cameras.
• Stay calm under pressure and act professionally.
• Work closely with store colleagues to maintain high standards.
• Adapt to changing situations to support the store.
