Job description

Restaurant Manager required to join our client’s beautiful country house hotel set in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. In your role as Restaurant Manager, you will have not only restaurant management experience but must have a passion for hospitality and customer service to be able to lead and influence your team in providing excellent service. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring that customer service standards are met, and managing staff as well as being responsible for creating and implementing strategies to increase sales and profitability.

The Role

  • Identify and delegate responsibilities to staff to ensure objectives are met and excellent service is consistently achieved
  • Create a positive guest experience by delivering a high level of service and ensuring all staff engage guests to understand their needs and exceed expectations
  • Manage operations with passion, integrity, and knowledge while promoting the culture and values of the hotel
  • Manage the restaurant to meet or exceed standards in food quality, safety, and cleanliness
  • Consistently monitor product and labour costs to remain within goals
  • Implement new company policies and procedures by developing plans and instructing staff
  • Provide direction to shift supervisors, and staff to achieve restaurant goals
  • Consistently review operations and staff to identify any problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to staff and assess performance on an ongoing basis
  • Manage staffing levels through weekly schedule preparation
  • Assist in any areas of the restaurant when staffing constraints require

The Person

  • Must possess previous restaurant management experience
  • Patience and the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proven ability to motivate and manage staff
  • Knowledge of food production methods
  • Extremely high attention to detail
  • IT literate with previous experience of hospitality packages would be an advantage
