Job description

Turner Property Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with a high quality, independent surveying practice based in Leeds, who are now looking to appoint a Residential Surveyor as part of their next phase of growth.

Run by a close knit family team, this business has quickly built a strong reputation for delivering detailed, high quality work on instructions that are often considered to be too complex for other firms. Quality, professionalism and technical rigours sit at the heart of everything they do.

Due to a newly signed agreement with a Leeds based estate agency that is set to significantly increase workflow, the business is now looking to bring an additional surveyor into the team.

The Role

This role will focus primarily on residential surveying work, including Level 2 and Level 3 surveys, with exposure to more complex instructions and valuation work. There is also the opportunity to be involved in some commercial instructions, including dilapidations and re‑instatement work for candidates interested in broadening their experience.

You will be trusted to manage your own workload, deliver consistently high standards of reporting, and take ownership of your instructions without day‑to‑day management. This is a role suited to someone who values autonomy and professional trust.

Candidate Profiles Considered

The business is open to two potential profiles:

  • An MRICS qualified Residential Surveyor, ideally already undertaking Level 2 and Level 3 surveys and comfortable handling more complex residential instructions and valuations
  • A surveyor with a couple of years’ experience, ideally Associate RICS, or working towards chartership, with a genuine interest in residential surveying and a desire to develop technically. The business is happy to support and train the right individual with relevant experience

For both profiles, candidates should already be working in residential surveying or happy to focus their career in this area.

Key Requirements
  • Experienced delivering Residential Level 2 and Level 3 surveys
  • Strong technical ability and attention to detail
  • Confidence managing your own workload without close supervision
  • Professional, client‑focused approach with a commitment to quality
  • Willingness to take on more complex instructions where required
Technology and Working Environment

The business uses GoReport software, which has been specifically configured for the manual and used on iPads to support efficient, high quality reporting.

Currently the team works largely from home, however an office has been secured to support collaboration as the team grows. The working culture is relaxed, supportive and flexible, with a strong emphasis on trust and work‑life balance.

Salary and Benefits
  • MRICS candidates can expect a salary in the region of £55,000 to £65,000, depending on experience
  • Bonus of approximately 10 percent, or around £2,000 per month
  • Salary flexibility for the right person, with a preference toward the lower end of the range
  • Flexible working and a genuinely relaxed, supportive environment

This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing, quality‑led practice at an early stage, where your work will be valued, your autonomy respected, and your development supported.
