Job summary

St Monica Trust is seeking a Village Porter to help safeguard residents and staff across our sites. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, respond to incidents, monitor CCTV and support reassurance patrols.

A driving licence is required for site mobility, and you should be able to communicate clearly and calmly in emergencies. We value friendly, alert individuals with basic health and safety knowledge and good computing skills who can adapt to a varied, hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of health and safety and fire safety.
• Basic computer skills and ability to use simple software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and prompt decision-making in emergencies.
• Must be chatty, personable and always on alert.
• Understanding of older people's needs and the ability to drive.

Responsibilities

• Safely manage site access for residents, staff and visitors.
• Respond to incidents, fire alarms and reassurance patrols.
• Monitor CCTV and handle incoming calls.
• Keep the team informed of events and incidents.
• Drive as required by site operations.
