Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy in the City of London is seeking a Resident Engineer to manage a team of technical supervisors for diverse projects. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with site regulations and oversee the quality assurance systems. Required qualifications include a Civil/Structural Engineering degree, supervisory experience, and strong knowledge of construction practices. Qualifications

Job description
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for and manage a team of technical supervisors including C&S, architectural and M&E RTOs with respect to C&S engineering works, architectural and M&E works on site to ensure that all works comply fully with regulations and client's requirements.
  • Report to C&S QP, work closely with regulatory authorities and contractors to provide supervision and leadership on site, not only to resolve site issues, but also to ensure timely completion of the project.
  • Implement and sustain the site supervision quality & safety assurance system.
  • Carry out supervision of structural & geotechnical works by identifying any non-conformity of contractor's works on site.
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings & contract documents in the works to be carried out.
  • Carry out regular site checks on contractor & ensure compliance with health and work safety in accordance with MOM regulation.
  • Attend site progress, technical, client-consultant, variation, coordination meetings etc with the project team and Client.
  • Ensure that proper site documentation for ongoing works, site meetings, safety records, method statements, shop drawings, as built submissions etc., are well managed.
  • Perform other related duties as required by the Client/Consultants.
Requirements:
  • Possess recognized Civil/Structural Engineering degree acceptable for registration with the PE Board, Singapore.
  • Accredited with IES/ACES with a valid Resident Engineer Practicing Certificate.
  • Minimum 5 years of Resident Engineer work experience in supervision of multi-storey building, with strong knowledge of bored piling, precast structures, ERSS and structural steel.
  • Possess a complete understanding of local Regulations/ codes for Civil & Structural related to building projects, especially to comply with BCA's criteria for buildability and safety assurance system.
  • Able to resolve site and technical issues, prepare and document detailed site progress reports.
  • Supervision and manage site supervisors with respect to C&S and Architecture Work.
  • Good supervisory and leadership skills, with experience in leading a team of Resident Technical Officers.
  • Good team player with effective communication skills and able to interact with people at all levels.
  • Carry out regular site checks on Builder and ensure compliance on health and work safety in accordance with MOM.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Knowledge in BIM and VDC capabilities will have an added advantage.
  • Experience in healthcare projects will be an added advantage.
