A leading materials handling business is looking for a Resident Engineer for their site in Avonmouth, Bristol. The position offers a salary of £30,000 - £36,000 plus overtime. The ideal candidate will have experience in maintaining forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment, with excellent communication skills. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Overview

Resident Engineer - Materials Handling Equipment

Location: Avonmouth, Bristol

Salary: £30,000 - £36,000 + Overtime available

Hours: Monday to Friday (Days)

Are you a multi skilled engineer looking for a site-based role with consistency, stability, and support? We are seeking a Resident Engineer to join a leading materials handling business, based full-time at a key customer site in Doncaster. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing forklift trucks and a range of other Material Handling Equipment (MHE), ensuring minimal downtime and excellent service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs on a range of Material Handling Equipment
  • Diagnose faults and identify cost-effective solutions
  • Build strong working relationships with the onsite team and customer
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with health & safety standards
Key Requirements
  • Strong engineering background - ideally from forklifts, automotive/vehicles, plant, or similar
  • Level 3 engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a similar engineering role (field or site-based)
  • Excellent communication and fault-finding skills
