Overview

We are seeking an experienced Resettlement and Inclusion Team Manager to lead a dedicated team delivering high-quality housing support and resettlement services. This is a pivotal role in shaping and managing services that support refugees, vulnerable individuals, and those at risk of homelessness, ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice. You will provide strategic leadership, oversee operational delivery, and drive continuous improvement across the Resettlement and Inclusion Team. Working closely with internal departments, elected members, and external partners, you will ensure that our services are effective, inclusive, and responsive to community needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Resettlement and Inclusion Team, ensuring high performance and professional standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies, policies, and procedures to meet service objectives and statutory requirements.
  • Oversee delivery of government refugee resettlement schemes and homelessness prevention initiatives.
  • Manage budgets effectively, ensuring value for money and financial accountability.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with stakeholders, including community representatives and external agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and equality policies.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and customer satisfaction across all services.
  • Represent the Council at regional and national forums, promoting best practice and sharing learning.
Required Experience and Skills
  • Operational experience working in a relevant housing environment.
  • Proven track record in staff management, performance monitoring, and service improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of housing law, refugee resettlement schemes, and homelessness prevention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a local government context.
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and community cohesion.
Qualifications
  • Minimum A-level standard or equivalent (GCSE Maths and English at grade C or above).
  • Relevant professional qualification (or willingness to work towards).
