ExtraCare Charitable Trust are looking for a Researcher (Care, Wellbeing & Social Science)! We are seeking a Researcher (Care, Wellbeing & Social Science) to play a pivotal role in strengthening our evidence base and shaping the future of our services. You will conduct and support applied research that directly improves residents' physical, mental and social wellbeing. Working across our villages and with external partners, you will design and deliver mixed-methods research, evaluate the impact of our care and wellbeing models, and translate findings into practical recommendations that influence service development and policy. Role Details
  • Role: Researcher (Care, Wellbeing & Social Science)
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week (full-time, permanent)
  • Location: Head Office, Coventry, CV3 2SN
  • Salary: £32,000 per annum
Key Duties
  • Plan, design, and implement research projects that align with ExtraCare's strategic goals;
  • Employ qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods to assess factors affecting older adults' quality of life (e.g., health services access, mobility, social inclusion, mental wellbeing);
  • Ensure research methodologies adhere to ethical standards, especially when working with vulnerable populations;
  • Work cross-functionally with care teams, village staff, residents, families, and stakeholders;
  • Facilitate workshops, focus groups, and co-design sessions to ensure research reflects lived experience;
  • Respond to internal Insights Requests, supporting other teams through evidence generation and analysis.

Our ideal candidate will have experience designing and conducting applied research, particularly in healthcare, ageing, or wellbeing. You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex findings clearly. You should possess a genuine care for enhancing older adults' quality of life.
