Job summary

RESEARCH TECHNICIAN – MATERIAL CHEMISTRY

£29,588 - £33,951 pa (or pro rata)

A Research Technician position is available in the research group of Professor Andy Cooper. You will support all our laboratory activities including chemistry as well as robotics experiments and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and collaborators. Daily activities will include assistance with Health & Safety procedures, laboratory management, facilities and equipment maintenance.

You should be educated to BTEC Higher Level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and have a flexible attitude to work and working hours. Some experience in a range of standard laboratory procedures/analytical techniques and Health & Safety is required, skills in electronic and/or hardware engineering and workshop skills would be advantageous. The role would be ideal for a recent college graduate or someone who would like to transition into academic research and gain experience in how to run large multidisciplinary chemistry facilities.

The post is available for 1 year initially.
