An esteemed academic institution in Liverpool is seeking a Research Technician to support laboratory activities in material chemistry. The role involves assisting with chemistry and robotics experiments and laboratory management. Candidates should possess a BTEC Higher Level or equivalent qualification and experience in standard lab procedures. A commitment to following Health & Safety protocols is essential. This position is particularly suited for recent graduates looking to gain experience in academic research, with the role available initially for one year.

A Research Technician position is available in the research group of Professor Andy Cooper. You will support all our laboratory activities including chemistry as well as robotics experiments and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, PhD students and collaborators. Daily activities will include assistance with Health & Safety procedures, laboratory management, facilities and equipment maintenance.
You should be educated to BTEC Higher Level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and have a flexible attitude to work and working hours. Some experience in a range of standard laboratory procedures/analytical techniques and Health & Safety is required, skills in electronic and/or hardware engineering and workshop skills would be advantageous. The role would be ideal for a recent college graduate or someone who would like to transition into academic research and gain experience in how to run large multidisciplinary chemistry facilities.
The post is available for 1 year initially.
