Overview

A leading company in the pharmaceutical industry is seeking a Research Scientist to join their Translational Sciences team in Berkshire on an initial 12‑month contract. As a Research Scientist, you will play a crucial role in advancing drug development from research into clinical phases.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, optimise and validate ligand‑binding assays/immunoassays such as ELISA, MSD, ELLA, Gyros, Singulex, and Simoa/Quanterix for biomarkers and gene therapy targets.
  • Present data at multi‑disciplinary project team meetings and understand the underlying biology and therapeutic approach of supported programmes.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment to high standards and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, the Human Tissue Act (HTA) and other applicable regulations.
  • Transfer validated methods to external partners, with potential travel in exceptional circumstances.
Requirements
  • Relevant degree in a biological discipline (MSc or PhD).
  • Proven industry experience in running ligand‑binding assays/immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, MSD, ELLA, Gyros, Singulex, Simoa/Quanterix).
  • Working knowledge and practical experience with solving complex analytical challenges.
