Responsibilities

An exciting vacancy is available as a Research & Project Coordinator in the Commercial Operations & Projects department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at the One Canal Parade offices.

  • Operational support of a portfolio of projects. This includes planning, monitoring, compliance, financial management, project profiling and reporting.
  • Support the delivery of projects from idea generation to mobilisation, completion and realisation of exit strategies.
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of funding rules and regulations to ensure delivery meets funding body requirements.
  • Work closely with teams across college to support the development of a project management culture, ensuring efficient use of resources and effective delivery of projects.
  • Use research to support the development of commercial business cases, tenders and project proposals, considering financial, logistical and administrative requirements.
  • Proactively support the implementation of the LMI model and the production of LMI reports for curriculum planning and Welsh Government submissions.
  • To coordinate funded projects and research in terms of achieving outcome and maintaining appropriate monitoring systems and procedures. Operational monitoring and compliance of projects, in the form of:
    • To support the COP Manager and Director in the timely completion of project claims, ensuring accuracy, provision of evidence trail, and produced to an auditable standard.
    • To produce accurate and prompt funding returns as required by external organisations.
    • To prepare reports on the progress of funded projects as requested.
    • To coordinate the monitoring and recording of project participants / beneficiaries.
    • To co-ordinate and liaise internally regarding all external project audit and monitoring visits.
  • To prepare management reports showing statistical analysis to project targets. Attend regular meetings with key stakeholders and monitor progress against performance targets.
  • To establish operational procedures with external partners with regards to project management and audit, providing guidance where necessary.
  • Represent the College at Operational Boards, or Strategic Boards in the absence of senior managers, to support the implementation of regional projects.
  • Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
