Overview

As a Lead Pharmacist in Cardiology, you will deliver specialized pharmaceutical care to a defined caseload of patients, incorporating non-medical prescribing where applicable. Adhering to the agreed scope of practice, you will manage risks and ensure compliance with local and national clinical guidance. Your role extends to supporting the Clinical Service Line and Pharmacy department in risk management, financial management, and clinical governance related to medication use.

You will lead and develop clinical pharmacy audit and practice research specifically within the field of cardiology, contributing to projects aimed at enhancing patient safety. Additionally, you’ll provide clinical supervision to junior pharmacists, medicines management pharmacy technicians, and pre-registration pharmacists. Acting as a professional role model, you will actively demonstrate integrity, ownership, and leadership across all aspects of your role.

Your expertise will position you as a source of specialist advice on cardiology matters for other pharmacists and healthcare professionals. By actively participating in projects, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of pharmaceutical services, ensuring excellence in patient care.
