Job summary

Hudson Shribman is seeking a Lead Business Development Manager to head a national team of eight BDMs and drive specification-led growth across the UK. The role focuses on building relationships with contractors, consultants, specifiers and end users to convert opportunities into sustainable sales growth within the electricals market.

Qualifications

• Strong Business development background in electricals (UK).
• Proven experience leading and developing a field-based sales/business development team.
• Strong track record of delivering profitable sales growth.
• Experience selling through contractors, consultants, specifiers and/or distribution channels.
• Good knowledge of the UK electrical wholesale and contractor markets.

Responsibilities

• Sales & Business Development Leadership
• Lead, coach and develop a national team of 8 Business Development Managers
• Create and deliver the national business development and specification strategy
• Set and deliver sales, pipeline and specification targets
• Build a strong, qualified pipeline of national opportunities
• Monitor forecasting, conversion and commercial performance
• Increase product specification and market penetration
• Develop relationships with major UK electrical contractors, consultants, specifiers and end users
• Identify new project and market opportunities
• Drive demand through early-stage specification activity
• Ensure specified opportunities progress through to successful sales
• Build strong relationships with senior decision-makers across national accounts
• Work closely with contractors, consultants, distributors and end users
• Represent the business at customer and industry meetings
• Develop a high-performing, customer-focused Business Development team
• Coach and motivate team members to achieve their objectives
• Drive continuous improvement across sales and business development activity
