Job summary

Better People is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager for the Construction/ICP/Utilities sector, based in Harlow with UK-wide coverage. The role focuses on winning new work, building client relationships, and creating a robust pipeline from prospecting to tender support.

You will own the end-to-end process, lead client meetings and site visits, and collaborate with estimating, technical and HSEQ teams to convert opportunities into contracts.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of delivering measurable new‑business wins.
• Experience in business development, sales or new business within construction or built environment.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Identify and target new clients, projects, frameworks and sectors with growth opportunities.
• Develop relationships with developers, architects, project managers, main contractors and consultants.
• Lead client meetings, site visits and capability presentations.
• Support PQQs, RFPs and ITTs alongside estimating, technical and HSEQ teams.
• Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts and activity reporting.
• Monitor competitors and market trends to identify new opportunities.
