Overview

We are currently seeking a Veterinary Nurse to join our dedicated team at Medivet Chorley 24 Hour. This is a 1 year fixed term contract (FTC) (Mat Cover).

Our clinic is a well-established, community-focused veterinary practice, committed to providing top-quality care to our beloved animal patients all with everything you need right on your doorstep. Chorley has a medical laser, Virtual Veterinary Specialist and Opportunity for Schedule 3 procedures.

Team & Role

You’ll be working alongside our incredibly supportive Branch Partner Chris and Mel Heaton, our Practice Manager. We have a lovely team made up of 5 day and 3 night RVNs, 6 Vets, 4 CCAs and 1 VCA.

Schedule

The shift pattern will be 40 hours over either 4 or 5 days, working a shift between 8:00am and 8:00pm. 1 in 6 weekends (TOIL for weekends), 1-2 bank holidays per year worked (Time given back in annual leave)

Role Accountabilities

In this role you will:

• Consistently deliver exceptional care to your clients.
• Support with surgeries and procedures, completing all pre and post procedure activity.
• Carry out nurse led appointments and schedule 3 activities.
• Deliver patient monitoring and care.
• Manage admissions and discharges as directed by the Veterinary team.
• If relevant: Complete patient transfers to out of hours or enhanced care.
• Dispense and check medication.
• Deliver professional excellence, complying with all regulatory, practice and operational standards.
• Hold briefings to engage and co-ordinate your team to support the most effective running of the practice.

Your Skills and Experience

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Experience of delivering exceptional patient and client care.
• Experienced in working effectively as part of a team.
• Experience of supporting Nurse consults, with an understanding of how this contributes to practice performance and efficiency.
• Experienced in using coaching and influencing skills to get the best out of every colleague.
