Overview

Are you an experienced Client Manager, Practice Manager or small firm Accounts & Tax Manager, looking for a role where you can help run a small but very well established, growing and profitable accountancy firm? This newly created role is vitally important for the continued growth of the practice which specialises in SME / OMB clients. You will work in a hands-on role with a high element of client contact, spending the majority of your time dealing with client queries and managing clients. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, your role will be varied and include managing a portfolio of clients, assisting with building and developing the client portfolio, managing workflow, reviewing work (statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and some VAT work) and liaising with clients to manage relationships.

You will be based between two offices in Zone 1 and South West London. This role offers opportunities from a smaller practice background to gain the opportunities and support of a large network while remaining in a small firm environment. The firm serves a wide array of Limited Companies and Sole Traders across sectors, with turnovers up to £8m (most clients between £50k and £3m). The firm embraces an entrepreneurial, forward-thinking approach and uses online software such as Xero and QuickBooks Online. There will be opportunities to carry out ad hoc and advisory projects for clients. The primary office is located in a central Zone 1 location in Central London.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and oversee day-to-day client relationships.
  • Assist with building and developing the client portfolio and managing workflow.
  • Review work including statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns and VAT work.
  • Provide hands-on support with client queries and deliver advisory projects as required.
  • Coordinate between two offices and liaise with clients in person and over the phone.
  • Contribute to a team environment within a small firm that benefits from the resources of a larger network.
Qualifications
  • Experience as a Client Manager, Practice Manager or small firm Accounts & Tax Manager in a hands-on SME environment.
  • Experience across all areas of general practice (statutory accounts, corporation and personal tax returns, VAT) and reviewing work.
  • Strong communication skills and regular client liaison, both in person and by phone.
  • ACCA/ACA qualified or qualified by experience.
  • At least 5 years in a general practice role in a small to medium-sized firm with strong experience with Limited Companies.
  • Experience with software packages including Xero.
  • Strong interest in working in a small team with London-based SME and OMB clients; well-presented and a team player with good relationship-building skills.

Remuneration & Location

Salary: To £70,000 + Benefits + Bonus
