We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Children's Manager to oversee the care and wellbeing of children. This is an Ofsted regulated children home providing care for three children (11-17) with emotional and behavioural difficulties. This Children Home is based in Thurrock, Essex.

Main purpose and contribution of the role
- Ensure the quality of care and the progress children make is outstanding as detailed within the Children’s Homes Regulation 2015 and Quality Standards and defined in the SCCIF.
- Uphold the standards of care in the home, ensuring the delivery of a service that is safe, compassionate and effective.
- Hold responsibility for the care and welfare of our young people.
- Young people’s progress, helping to secure the best outcomes achievable for the young people we support.
- To be an ambassador for people with emotional and behavioural difficulties.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager, wider management team, Local Authorities, your team / staff of the home, the Social Workers of the young people and any other stakeholders.
- Performance management, training, development and induction of staff.
- Maintain occupancy levels.
- Contribute to the development of the home.
- In addition, the Registered Manager will take on the role of Designated Safeguarding Lead.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a management role within a children’s residential care setting.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Experience of successfully leading and managing within a regulatory framework, ideally in setting up a new children’s home.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and care standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- A passion for working with children and a commitment to their well‑being and development.

- This post is subject to an enhanced level DBS Disclosure and Barring Check, including a check against the “Barred List” in respect of the Adult and Child Workforce.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £50,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
