Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home (Mental Health, LD & High-Risk Behaviours)

We're recruiting an exceptional Registered Manager to lead a small, high-need therapeutic children's home in central Eastbourne, supporting young people aged 11-18 with learning disabilities, complex mental health challenges, trauma, and high-risk behaviours. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a service where clinical practice meets leadership vision—ideal for experienced Registered Managers or ambitious Deputies ready to take that next step.

You'll oversee a well-resourced, psychologically informed environment, supported by a forward-thinking provider committed to therapeutic excellence and staff well being.

The Young People You'll Support May Present With:
  • Self-harm, including ligatures and risk of serious injury
  • Suicidal ideation, dissociation, and crisis dysregulation
  • Histories of CSE (Child Sexual Exploitation) and trafficking
  • Sexualised behaviour, aggression, and boundary issues
  • Substance misuse and overdose risks
  • Conditions including PTSD, emerging personality disorder, ADHD, autism, and attachment trauma
Your Role as Registered Manager
  • Be fully responsible for the home's Ofsted compliance, care quality, and safe operations
  • Build and lead a skilled team of support workers, Team Leaders and Deputies
  • Drive trauma-informed, therapeutic practice at every level of the home
  • Maintain a culture of high expectations, emotional safety, and accountability
  • Develop and monitor care plans, risk assessments, audits and serious incident reviews
  • Build strong partnerships with social care, CAMHS, schools and families
  • Create an environment where staff are supported, valued, and retained
  • Actively contribute to service growth, quality assurance, and safeguarding strategy
What We're Looking For
  • Experience managing (or deputising in) a children's residential setting with high-risk or EBD/mental health needs
  • Excellent understanding of safeguarding, Ofsted standards, and risk management
  • Proven leadership skills and a therapeutic, values-driven approach
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (Residential Childcare) - or willingness to complete
  • Strong working knowledge of legislation: Children's Homes Regs, Quality Standards, Working Together to Safeguard Children, etc.
  • Emotional intelligence, professional resilience, and confident decision-making
  • Full UK driving licence (essential due to rural location)
