We are seeking a Band 5 Community Mental Health Nurse in the Erewash Older Adult Community Mental Health Team. We are an experienced and professional team dedicated to providing excellent care for the Older Adult population. Our team is friendly, supportive, professional, and inclusive. This post covers a broad geographical area, and the post holder will need to travel within the area frequently and transport service users as needed occasionally, without compromising service needs.

Main duties of the job

If successful, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Work with service users with both functional and organic illnesses, with full support from the MDT.
  • Carry a caseload of patients with varying needs, including depot injections.
  • Use excellent assessment skills, risk management skills and communication skills; work towards building therapeutic relationships with both service users and their families/carers.
  • Work as part of a knowledgeable, supportive and forward-thinking team committed to supporting and guiding learning and development.
  • Work closely with voluntary partners, Primary Care and Our Care Homes project.
  • Receive regular clinical, managerial and peer supervision and access a wide range of development opportunities.
  • We welcome applications from newly-qualified nurses and offer an excellent preceptorship programme.
