Job summary

A local authority recruitment agency in Liverpool is seeking a motivated Recruitment Officer for a 6-month contract, possibly extended. You will manage the recruitment process from advertising to hiring, ensuring compliance with pre-employment checks. This role will involve advising managers on HR policies and representing the Council at promotional events.

Qualifications

  • HR/Recruitment qualification (e.g., CIPD) or equivalent relevant experience in talent acquisition.
  • Proven experience in an in-house recruitment or talent acquisition role within a fast‑paced environment.
  • Essential experience using Tribepad to manage candidate flow and recruitment stages.
  • Demonstrable experience handling complex pre-employment checks and understanding the vetting and barring process.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining strict attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full recruitment lifecycle, advising on advert copy and selection methods.
  • Facilitate and verify all pre-appointment checks, including Right to Work documentation.
  • Provide guidance to managers on Council policies and HR best practices.
  • Represent the Council at job fairs and universities to promote Liverpool City Council.
  • Support colleagues during high-volume periods, ensuring deadlines are met.

This is a critical "end-to-end" role, requiring a unique blend of recruitment expertise and administrative precision. You will manage a personal caseload of vacancies, acting as a strategic partner to hiring managers while ensuring all pre‑employment compliance is met.

Responsibilities
