A conservation organisation in the UK is looking for a Ranger to protect wildlife and promote access to natural spaces. This physically demanding role involves engaging with visitors and ensuring high conservation standards at the Colby Estate. Candidates should have experience in outdoor conservation, be able to work with machinery, and hold a full UK driving licence. Benefits include a substantial pension, discounts, and flexible working. Join a team committed to inclusivity and environmental stewardship.
In line with our redeployment policy, we’ll prioritise applications from employees who are under formal notice of redundancy.
As a Ranger, your main priority is to help restore nature and to promote equitable access to the natural, historic, and cultural heritage of the National Trust. You will inspire people to care, act, and to rethink work to secure a sustainable future.
This role is physically demanding and may be carried out in remote settings. You’ll work outdoors on rugged terrain using machinery and equipment, both in teams and alone.
You will be based in the Countryside team at Colby Estate, working 8 am–4 pm. Weekends, bank holidays, evenings and on-call duties may be required.
The Welsh translation of the advert is available in the attachments.
Your primary responsibilities will cover the Colby estate (450 ha of farmland, woodland and coast) and the Carmarthenshire Coastal properties (365 ha of in‑hand and tenanted land).
The National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong and where diversity is reflected in our teams.
