Job Overview

Exciting opportunity for 3 enthusiastic and motivated individuals passionate about children’s mental health and crisis intervention to join the RAIS (Respond and Intensive Support) Team within Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The RAIS team works intensively with children and families for two weeks, seven days a week, 365 days a year, aiming to stabilise young people, instil hope, empower parents to maintain safety, and improve mental health.

Responsibilities
  • Stabilise risk of mental health difficulties for young people and their families.
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team to develop the best pathway of care for each young person and their family.
  • Provide intensive care for a period of two weeks until the young person’s risk is stabilised and can be managed by their care coordinator in the community.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, reviews, and discharges to manage safety and assist in crisis intervention.
  • Liaise regularly with local children’s mental health services and other agencies to build relationships and support families.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff members.
  • Attend and provide up‑to‑date handovers at regular morning meetings and complex case discussion sessions.
  • Maintain a high standard of record keeping and reports.
  • Participate in clinical governance programmes within the RAIS Team.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions and adjust as client needs change.
  • Provide training and supervision to other team members and support students or trainees on placement.
  • Promote equality and inclusion within the team and broader community.
